Medical experts from the hospital in Mexico, denied health care for this pregnant woman who was about to deliver her child due to lack of money... the next thing she knows, she's delivering her first born at the lawn of the hospital clinic.
This photo below caused outrage in Mexico as the country was shocked with the health care status of the nation. Discussions about ethnocentrism, discrimination also became a hot topic soon after. Debates spark as there is also a possibility of discrimination against indigenous Mexicans.
Medical experts and nurses from a certain clinic said to have thrown the pregnant woman out of their clinic as they weren't be attended by the physicians until the next morning. A witness took the photo and sent it to several reporters in local media and newspapers. Now, the story is a hot topic not only locally but in international sites as well.
It was found out that Irma Lopez and her husband had walked for hours just to get to the nearest clinic so she can deliver her child safely only to be denied of health care from the nurse in the clinic. The woman then went on a labor ninety minutes after - and was forced to do it in the lawn as her water broke after a while.
